This session will discuss the concept of data sovereignty, its different meanings the origin of this concept and how it relates to digital sovereignty. We will discuss the impact of this concept on lawmaking in the EU and Asia, including through data localisation issues. We will discuss how, if any, this concept is a response to the US role on tech and data .
