Giovanni Maria Riccio is full professor of Comparative Copyright Law at the University of Salerno. Founder and managing partner of E-Lex Law Firm, based in Rome, Italy. 

As a lawyer, he assists international firms on data protection and intellectual property issues. As an academic, he is former Academic visitor at the Oxford University Intellectual Property Centre and visiting fellow at the Birbeck College of the University of London. Former consultant of the European Commission on the revision of the e-commerce directive and of the European Audiovisual Observatory of the Council of Europe. He has published more than 100 articles on academic law reviews and lectured before many European and non-European universities.
