Participates in 1 Session

Flavia Giglio is an associate researcher at the Centre for IT & IP Law, where she works in the Cybercrime & Cybersecurity cluster since 2021 after a number of professional experiences in different environments. She obtained her Master’s degree in Transnational, European and Comparative Law from the University of Trento. Her research interests revolve around the balance between law enforcement/national security goals and the rights to privacy and data protection, and the its impact on other fundamental rights in the context of criminal procedure, such as those to defence and due process. She has worked extensively on the EU legal regime for international data transfers, both in the context of the research projects and of teaching activities. In 2019, she spent a 2-months research stay in India, carrying out research for a local NGO with regard to the balance between counter-terrorism measures and fundamental rights. This was the first chance for her to familiarize with the Indian legal system, so that she could later deepen her knowledge on it, to put in relation the Indian legislative landscape and the EU framework on cross-border data flows.
