5G-MOBIX is developing and testing 5G core technological innovations for connected automated mobility (CAM) along multiple cross-border corridors and local trial sites. This session will present an overview of the 5G networks deployed, the 5G features, use cases and scenarios trialed, a preview of their performance to date, and finally, the cross-border challenges investigated, namely: interconnecting telecommunication infrastructures, application security and privacy or regulatory issues, and securing investments for the deployment of 5G for CCAM in cross-border areas.Fikret Sivrikaya from GT-ARC will guide the audience through the developments and deployments within 5G-MOBIX to deliver the cross-border connectivity needed for the 5G-MOBIX use-cases. A clear path from cross-border challenges through considered solutions towards use-cases has been developed to facilitate the deployment, trials, and evaluation.

Camille Plestan from Vedecom will guide the audience through the different trials and the (COVID) challenges overcome to perform relevant trials in national and cross-border environments. She will describe how the national and cross-border trials add up to create a complete picture of the available solutions to the identified cross-border challenges.

Konstantinos Katsaros from ICCS will guide the audience through the evaluation and early results. He will describe how we ensure that the innovations within 5G-MOBIX are validated and proven to allow the realization of cross-border CAM.

Olga Segou from Intrasoft will offer the learnings from a different angle. From the developments and trials, several barriers and enablers have been found that can be overcome or applied to allow the deployment of cross-border CAM services.
