Chiara di Somma
Official at the Italian Data Protection Authority since October 1, 2009.

Since 2009, she has been addressing issues related to the processing of data for secondary uses, particularly for scientific, historical, statistical research, and archiving in the public interest.

She graduated in Law in 2003 from the University of Naples Federico II, achieving top marks and honors. Her thesis in civil law focused on the legal and ethical aspects of the topic "Unwanted Birth and Compensable Damage," for which she received a bioethics award from the Inter-university Center for Bioethical Research (C.I.R.B.).

In 2008, she obtained a PhD in Public and Constitutional Law from the same university. In 2007, she qualified to practice law.

In 2004, she earned a Master's degree from the University of Rome La Sapienza in "The Protection of Human Rights in International Law."

She is the author of several legal publications, particularly on privacy and data protection. Additionally, she participates as a speaker at various conferences and collaborates as a lecturer for numerous doctoral programs, master's degrees, and training courses on these topics.
