
Dr. Nikolaos Kaklanis has been a Research Associate in the Information Technologies Institute since March 2006. He received the Diploma in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from the University of the Aegean, Greece (2005), his MSc in Advanced Communication Systems from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2008) and his PhD in virtual user modelling from the University of Surrey, UK (2013). His main research interests include virtual user modelling, internet technologies, cloud and distributed computing, IoT technologies, web accessibility, semantic matchmaking technologies, haptic and multimodal user interfaces and assistive technologies enhancing accessibility. His involvement in these research areas has led to his participation in more than 50 publications in journals, international conferences and books. He is a member of W3C and a contributor in the development of UsiXML.
