Michela Massimi is a lawyer and official at the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) since 2003. She has focused primarily on data protection in the fields of journalism and new technologies. She was in charge of the Public Relations Office at the Authority from 2014 to 2020 and is the legal advisor to Commissioner Guido Scorza, member of the Board of the Authority.
She is a lecturer in Master's programs at several Italian universities, participates in numerous conferences and seminars on data protection topics, and collaborates with the course Protezione dei dati personali e tutela dei diritti fondamentali – Clinica Legale Privacy at Roma Tre University.
Michela Massimi is the author of various publications on issues related to personal data protection and she wrote with Guido Scorza “La privacy spiegata semplice ai più giovani (e ai loro genitori)”, Mondadori Università.
