Participates in 1 Session

Pia Groenewolt is a Ph.D. candidate at VUB’s Law, Science, Technology & Society (LSTS) group, working under Prof. Dr. Niels van Dijk at the d.pia.lab. Her research in the Data4Food2030 project interrogates the data economy’s foundational constructs—problematising "data" as an object of study (both personal and non-personal) through the lens of food systems as a critical domain.

Trained in sociology (UHelsinki), political science (ULB), human rights (Université Saint Louis-Bruxelles), and ICT law (KU Leuven), she employs interdisciplinary methods to dissect governance gaps in data-driven systems. Before academia, she engaged with policy praxis at the International Labour Organization, the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and European digital rights NGOs.
