and maintain business efficacy without compromising user trust or compliance. As Google’s Data Protection Officer, Kristie oversees Google’s data protection program. In addition, Kristie
actively engages externally, sharing Google's technical approach to data protection and fostering a culture of digital responsibility across the industry. As a board director for five Korean Google entities, Kristie provides strategic guidance and oversight on governance and
risk mitigation.
Kristie’s career is defined by a consistent thread: transforming how organizations approach data risk through strategic governance, scalable product development, and a deep understanding of evolving regulatory landscapes. Kristie brings proven expertise in aligning
risk management strategies with core business objectives, driving organizational transformation, and building and scaling global product lines and programs from inception to maturity (0-10 and 10-100).
Prior to Google, Kristie spearheaded PayPal's data governance initiatives as Chief Privacy Officer. As the organization's first dedicated privacy leader, Kristie developed the foundational principles and built a global team that scaled privacy through a robust platform. Serving as Chief Privacy Officer at HCL Technologies, Kristie advised B2B clients on data risk management across diverse sectors: healthcare, banking, and consumer products. Kristie honed her expertise in digital privacy at American Express, where she built and advised on strategies to mitigate risks and ensure user trust.
Kristie lives in Redwood City, CA with her husband and two daughters where she enjoys hiking, cooking, and weekend renovation projects.
