Alain Herrmann has been a pivotal figure at Luxembourg's Data Protection Authority, the Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données (CNPD), since 2012. In 2021, he was appointed Commissioner, leading the Investigations and Compliance Departments. In this role, he oversees certifications, codes of conduct, international transfers, EU large-scale information systems audits, artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital tools.
Currently, Alain is particularly focused on preparing the CNPD to undertake its new missions related to the AI Act and the Data Governance Act.
Alain possesses an excellent understanding of the national, European, and international data protection ecosystems.
