
Commissioner Gilad Semama was appointed as Head of the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority on November 2022.
Commissioner Semama achieved a Bachelor and Masters degrees (with honors) of Laws and of Public Policy at the University of Tel – Aviv and at the University of Northwestern.
Prior to his position as Head of the PPA, Commissioner Semama served in a variety of positions in the public sector, including Head of State Legal Aid, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Justice (on legislative issues), and attorney at the State Attorney's Office (international criminal law focusing on combatting criminal organizations).
Additionally, Commissioner Semama was a member of the "Appointments Committee" of the Bar Association, a member of the "Advisory Committee for Civil Procedure Regulations", and a member of the "Public Advisory Council for the Coordination of the Fight against Racism".
