Chiara Romano has been working at the Italian Data Protection Authority since 2002, most recently on EU-related and international matters.
She contributes regularly to the activity of the European Data Protection Board, representing the Italian Authority in various expert subgroups. She has also been actively involved in the working group on certifications within the Italian Authority dealing with data protection certification issues.
She has taught at the Sapienza University of Rome on EU public law, delivered numerous public presentations, and published several papers on fundamental rights and data protection issues.
