Caroline Goulding is TikTok’s Data Protection Officer leading the Office of the DPO function and serves as the Head of DMA Compliance for Bytedance. She sits on the company’s Global Privacy and Regulatory Affairs leadership team and forms part of the current IAPP European Advisory Board.
Caroline has held previous roles on the IAPP Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board, the Board of Directors for the Irish American Bar Association, PICASSO Labs special interest group and the data protection and information security working group of the Association of Compliance Officers of Ireland. Caroline is the Founder of the DPO Network for the multinational software sector, serving as the first Chairperson and regularly advises start-ups.
Previously she served as LinkedIn's first Data Protection Officer and prior to that headed up LinkedIn’s Global Legal Policy Enforcement team covering a wide array of user and customer-facing legal issues, including IP and defamation, before data protection became her core focus. Caroline also sat on the Trust & Safety leadership team with exposure to a range of security matters including risk, fraud and content issues.
Caroline is an IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) and holds the CIPP/E/US and CIPM certifications.
