
Anna Colaps is currently Visiting Fellow at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) of the European University Institute (EUI) where she is exploring a form of "governance altruism" in the enforcement of EU digital regulations in order to have individuals, markets and public enforcers better off. Anna is also the European Commission's DSA Officer for Italy, in charge of liaising with national authorities and stakeholders on the implementation of this legal act.
Anna was a former Member of Cabinet at the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), where she advised on the protection of rights in the digital sphere, privacy and competition, online manipulation, scientific research, artificial intelligence, ethics and innovation. Prior to joining the EDPS, she worked as PhD researcher and lecturer at the University of Naples Parthenope and at the European Commission, Directorate-General for Competition.
Anna holds a Ph.D. in European Law from the University of Naples Parthenope. Her research focused on the interaction between data protection, privacy and competition law in data-driven markets. She is currently affiliated as researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB). Anna holds a Master's Degree in Law from the University of Naples Federico II and she is a qualified lawyer admitted to the Italian bar.
