This workshop is designed to practice the conformity assessment procedure of AI systems in accordance with the emerging AI Act. The workshop is structured to provide theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, focusing on the Act's obligations and requirements concerning intended use, data governance, transparency, and the technical and organizational measures implemented to ensure compliance.

Workshop Activities:

  • Introduction to the AI Act: The facilitators present the AI Act, covering key aspects such as the definition of high-risk AI systems, obligations for AI providers, and the scope of the regulation.
  • Group formation: Participants will be divided into groups and assigned a fictional scenario that describes an AI system deployed in healthcare.
  • Assessment: Guided by facilitators, each group will examine the assigned AI system, discussing its intended use, the data governance framework in place, transparency measures, and technical and organizational measures implemented for compliance.
  • Report drafting: Groups will draft a report detailing the AI system's compliance with the AI Act, highlighting areas where additional measures are necessary to meet regulatory standards.
  • Presentation: Each group will present their findings to a jury composed of experts in AI regulation, ethics, and compliance. The jury will evaluate the reports based on accuracy, depth of analysis, and the pertinence of recommendations.
  • Feedback and award: Each group will receive constructive feedback, after which the winning team will be announced. The winning group will receive a digital certificate of award.
