Ileana Bello is the Director General of Amnesty International Italy as of June 1, 2022. Ileana has more than 20 years of experience in the humanitarian and human rights field. She has worked in the field in various locations for the humanitarian sector, mainly in the Balkan region, the Middle East and Central America. In Geneva, she was director general of the international secretariat of Defence for Children International (DCI) for nearly seven years. Also in Geneva, she then served for six years as operations manager at the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). A graduate in Political Science and International Relations from La Sapienza University in Rome, she specializes in international protection of human rights and international development cooperation.

Ileana Bello è la Direttrice generale di Amnesty International Italia dal 1° giugno 2022. Ileana ha più di 20 anni di esperienza nel settore umanitario e dei diritti umani. Ha lavorato sul campo in varie località per il settore umanitario, principalmente nella regione dei Balcani, in Medio Oriente ed in America Centrale. A Ginevra è stata per quasi sette anni direttrice generale del Segretariato internazionale di Defence for Children International (DCI). Sempre ha Ginevra, ha poi ricoperto per 6 anni il ruolo di Operations manager presso la Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). Laureata in Scienze politiche e Relazioni internazionali presso l’Università La Sapienza di Roma, è specializzata in protezione internazionale dei diritti umani e in cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo.
