Mr Matteo Piazza
Matteo Piazza is currently Deputy Head of the Currency Circulation Management Directorate at the Bank of Italy and member of Eurosystem, EU and FSB Working Groups dealing with cash and payment instruments matters. He has been working in the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research of the Bank of Italy, dealing with financial stability issues and monetary and financial statistics. He has also been member of the Secretariat of the Financial Stability Board and has worked at the World Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has authored or co-authored several scientific publications in national and international journals.

The transfer of data across borders is essential to the functioning of the cross-border payments system.
