Chiara Gallese

Chiara Gallese is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow at the University of Turin's Law Department. She is a guest research fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology's Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute, at LIUC University's School of Engineering, and at University of Milan's ISLC center. She graduated in East Asian Economic and Legal Languages and Institutions (2001-2006) at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and in Law (2007-2012) at the University of Padua. In 2015, she passed the bar exam. She obtained her PhD at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice in 2017 with the interdisciplinary thesis "The reform of private international law in Japan". Between 2017 and 2019, she worked as a lawyer and privacy consultant for multinationals and banks, obtaining the international CIPP/E certification. In 2021 she worked at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, collaborating with the Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Centre, where she was a member of the regulatory board. Her research focuses on AI and Law, Data Ethics, and Data Protection. She is now a member of the General Purpose AI Code of Practice Working Group established by the EU AI Office.
