Serena Contu is currently Data Protection Officer and Head of Data Protection, Corporate Liability Compliance, and Ethic Code Values at Eni Plenitude Benefit Corp. In this role, she ensures that the company and its Italian and foreign subsidiaries adheres to compliance and ethical standards, as internal member of Italian and foreign supervisory body too. Before taking on this position, she has held other significant role within Eni’s Group, as Head of Regulation Development with a deep focus on energy market processes.
Additionally, she is passionate about ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics and has been actively involved in Plenitude's transformation into a benefit corporation, reflecting her commitment to sustainable and ethical business practices.
Furthermore, Serena is serving her second term on the Board of Directors of CLUSIT, the Italian Association for Information Security. Her involvement with CLUSIT highlights her dedication to advancing information security and promoting best practices within the industry, with a focus on Privacy and Data Protection topics.
She has been co-author of “La protezione dei dati personali nell’ecosistema aziendale” (“Compliance-Privacy, trasparenza, anticorruzione, antiriciclaggio, responsabilità degli enti”, Giuffrè Francis Lefeb, 2022) and “Ruolo e compiti dell’ODV nel sistema dei controlli endosocietari” (“L’organismo di vigilanza nelle società”, Giuffrè Francis Lefeb, 2023).
