
Jordi Rovira was the
R&D manager in the eHealth direction in Telefónica in the last 10 years. He
was in charge of implementing the international strategy for Telefónica’s
eHealth centre in Granada and aligning the innovation strategy with final
clients, such as hospitals and health regional agencies, to develop new
initiatives in accordance with Telefónica’s Steering Committee. As a data
scientist, he is a pioneer in introducing the first use cases in big data
analytics into Chronic Disease Management technology, focused on conditions
such as COPD, Parkinson and migraine. Internationally, he is a recognised
figure in the eHealth field and has received awards by the AAL Association and
the European Projects Association for the Project HELP for Parkinson’s
telemonitoring[1] with ten international partners where he was coordinator.
Finally, he is well connected with regional and national healthcare systems in
Spain. He is a coordinator of the telemedicine line in the Forum ITESSS, which
is an innovation group promoted by the Catalan Government[2]. Recently, Jordi
Rovira joined MYSPHERA, an IoT company specialised in healthcare, where he is
leading the Big Data Analytics strategy.
