
Francesco Sottile
Francesco Sottile received the MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in July 2002. Since November 2002 he has been with LINKS as a researcher in the IoT & Pervasive Technologies Research Area and since July 2013 he has been assigned the head of the IoT Objects and Platforms Research Unit. His research activities are mainly focused on the field of IoT, signal processing for cooperative localization and autonomous drone navigation. He collaborates to a number of industrial and public-funded R&D projects on innovative technologies enabling the IoT in the field of logistics, ambient intelligence, control and automation, automotive and transportation. He has gained a very solid experience in the context of the European Commission Framework Programs (FP) for research and development. He is the technical coordinator of the MONCA project and has been involved in the following EU projects: SatisFactory (H2020 IA), ebbits and BUTLER (FP7 IP), NEWCOM++ (FP7 NoE) and CVIS (FP6 IP).
