Margaux Schaeffer
I am a legal counsel in the Digital Economy and Financial Sector Departement of the CNIL's Directorate of Legal Support.
As such, I contribute to the development of the CNIL's legal doctrine by drafting tools (reference manuals, recommendations, guidelines, etc.) to facilitate the appropriation and understanding of the regulations by professionals. I am also involved in similar work at the European level, as I take part in expert subgroups of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).
I work mostly on matters related to connected vehicles and mobility. I have notably co-piloted the CNIL's "compliance club on connected vehicles" works which led to the adoption of a draft recommendation on processings of location data which is currently subject to a public consultation (.https://www.cnil.fr/fr/vehicules-connectes-et-localisation-consultation-publique-projet-de-recommandation).

The exceptional panel of this session will explore the fine line between convenience and surveillance, geolocation tracking, and how regulations are adapting.
