Smart tourism destinations are based on the intelligence generated thanks to the amount of information collected from different IoT devices and other data sources. The European Commission has also launched the Smart Tourism Destination as an initiative to accelerate the digital transformation of 50 tourism destinations and at national level different initiatives are also supporting this process in which IoT has a key role.
