Alexandra Delaney-Bhattacharya started her role as the Isle of Man's Information Commissioner in late September 2024, bringing strong experience in regulatory engagement, outreach, and collaboration. With nearly seven years working in the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Alex held progressively senior roles starting in the international engagement team, as Private Secretary to the Executive Director of Technology and Innovation, Programme Manager of the ICO's legislative reform work, and most recently headed up the delivery function in the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (DRCF) where she was part of the team that mobilised and delivered the cross-regulatory AI and Digital Hub.

Prior to entering the regulatory world, Alex spent four years in management consultancy supporting clients in the UK and Switzerland.

Alex holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies and her thesis examined at the vexed postcolonial legacies and new horizons of white female representation in popular Hindi cinema.
