Olavi Luotonen is Programme Officer at European Commission, DG CONNECT, responsible for Smart Cities & Communities in the Internet of Things unit. He is Project Officer for example for the IoT Large Scale Pilot "SynchroniCity: Delivering an IoT Enabled Digital Single Market for Europe and Beyond" and "SELECT for Cities" pre-commercial procurement co-fund action. Olavi is the main Commission contact for Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC). He is also exploring Digital for Climate / Sustainability themes. Before joining the Commission in 1998, Olavi worked for international ICT companies. He completed his MScTech at Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) and MBA at INSEAD, and comes originally from Rymättylä, Turku archipelago, Finland.
