David is responsible for BSIs Digital Trust Assurance solutions: training, testing, assessing and certifying for Digital Governance and Risk Management, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Digital Supply Chain, Data Stewardship and Artificial Intelligence. He supports BSIs clients across the key sectors of Built Environment, Healthcare, Food, Mobility, ICT, Energy and Manufacturing in the safe and effective adoption of disruptive digital technologies.

Originally training as an electronics engineer with the British Broadcasting Company, David then served as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Air Force, specializing in electronic warfare.  Subsequently, David has delivered secure IT projects for UK Ministry of Defence, managed development of telecommunications laser systems and micro-electronics manufacturing equipment, moving in to LED Lighting in 2007. Managing high-performance LED systems for architectural, TV/Film and medical applications, led to into “smart lighting” and “smart homes/buildings” incorporating IoT technology.  David then directed sales and provided consultancy for lighting and IoT, joining BSI in 2017.
