Bas de Groot is an accomplished privacy leader, currently serving as Senior Director of Privacy Operations at Insulet Corporation. With extensive experience in the healthcare and life sciences industry, Bas ensures privacy and data protection compliance across the business while meeting business objectives.

Prior to joining Insulet Corporation, Bas worked at AbbVie as Privacy Compliance Manager for several European affiliates. He also has extensive experience as a Senior Consultant Privacy & Data Protection at Verdonck, Klooster & Associates, where he advised organisations on the protection of personal data and acted as Data Protection Officer for various clients. He also has a background in legal advising, having worked in criminal law and cybercrime at the Court of Appeal in The Hague, Netherlands.

Bas holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and two Master of Laws (LL.M.), specialising in internet, intellectual property and IT, and criminal law. He is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT).
