
Eugenio Gaeta is a senior researcher, software architect, and educator with 15+ years of experience in bioengineering, health informatics, AI, and distributed systems. He holds a Ph.D. from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Computer Engineering degree from Università La Sapienza di Roma.
As Technical Manager and Platform Architect for IDEA4RC, he leads the Zero Trust-based federated learning infrastructure for rare cancer data analysis, ensuring data security, interoperability (HL7-FHIR, OMOP), and compliance with EHDS and GDPR.
In Protect-Child, he designs a privacy-preserving digital ecosystem for pediatric transplant data, integrating confidential computing, homomorphic encryption, and federated AI to enhance security and governance.
Beyond these, he has led technical developments in Gatekeeper, PandeVITA, and Plan4Act. Currently, he is a Senior Researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a lecturer in digital health and telemedicine.
