Jon Jashni

Jon Jashni is a media investor and content producer who operates through his investment fund Raintree Ventures. He is a strategic advisor to Morgan Stanley, Evolution Media (a joint-venture between TPG Capital and Creative Artists Agency), Endeavor Content, Bonfire Game Studios, Mass Appeal and Jaunt VR. Jashni is also an investing producer in the restaging of the Broadway musical, Carousel, and was recently nominated in the Best Revival of a Musical category of the 2018 Tony Awards. 

Previously, Jashni was President and Chief Creative Officer of Legendary Entertainment. He joined the company in January 2006 and, over the ten years that followed, was integrally involved in evolving the company from a film-financing entity into a leading, diversified, multi-platform media company. As one aspect of his duties at Legendary, Jashni oversaw the development and production of such film projects as Pacific Rim Uprising, Kong: Skull Island, The Great Wall, Warcraft, Krampus, Crimson Peak, Godzilla, the Jackie Robinson biopic ‘42’, As Above/So Below, Clash of the Titans, 300: Rise of an Empire and Pacific Rim. 

Jashni drove Legendary’s acquisition of the Irwin Allen Estate Library (e.g. Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno), an IP studio which Jashni and his partner, filmmaker Kevin Burns, oversee via their company Synthesis. Netflix ordered a full season of a reimagined Lost in Space from Synthesis and Legendary Television which was released April 2018. 

Prior to joining Legendary, Jashni was President of Hyde Park Entertainment. Before joining Hyde Park, Jashni was a producer on Sweet Home Alabama and, as a senior production executive at 20th Century Fox, oversaw Ever After. Jashni was earlier partnered with industry power broker Irving Azoff at the Warner Bros.-based Giant Pictures. He joined Azoff after serving as a production executive at Columbia Pictures. Jashni began his career at Daniel Melnick's The IndieProd Company. 

Jashni is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America in addition to serving as a Trustee Emeritus of the American Film Institute. He holds a BS in Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California and an MBA in Organizational Behavior from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
