Marla is the President, Founder, and CTO of the abolitionist nonprofit Claim Our Space Now, a Haitian-born performer, and published model (Oprah Mag, Vogue Italia, CRWN Mag, Blavity), who received her Bachelors in computer science from Fordham University in Fall 2020. Her professional career launched after winning the Jimmy Award for Best Actress in 2015 which opened the door for her on and off-Broadway (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), television (Netflix’s "Seven Seconds"), and commercial credits. When rehearsals at the Public Theater were cancelled at the onset of the pandemic, Marla pivoted into fashion and found inspiration to create with intention through creative direction, modeling, and more. In doing so, she discovered her purpose as an artivist to make the revolution to dismantle white supremacy irresistible. Her game changing work in activism has landed her recognition by Rihanna's Lingerie brand SavagexFenty and the CCNYC's Class of 2021 (Variety).
