Joe Blanchard is a performer and fight/intimacy director based out of Chicago, IL. A recent graduate of Northwestern University, Joe was recently featured on the Abandon All Hope studio album, and intimacy coordinated for Year One. When a script calls for stage combat, theatre makers turn to fight directors and choreographers to keep the performers safe while making the scene in question appear as authentic as possible. But how does this work fit into the larger project of moving the plot along, defining characters, and illuminating important themes?
