Afghan American mutli-hyphyenate, Azita Ghanizada’s journey from political asylum seeker to Hollywood, has broken many cultural barriers. One of the first women from Afghanistan to star in a series on television in the US on "Alphas,” she has worked consistently on film and television, and is set to make her Broadway debut this July in The Kite Runner at The Hayes Theater. Select TV & Film credits include “United States of Al,” “Good Trouble,” “Ballers,” “Alphas,” “Castle,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Complete Unknown,” “We Broke Up,” and “Our Friend.” In 2017, Azita built the first new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion hiring category into the entertainment business in 37 years. Middle Eastern North African, MENA. She is also the Founder and President of MENA Arts Advocacy Coalition (MAAC), the SAG-AFTRA National MENA Committee Chair, a TEDx Speaker, an Ambassador to Women for Women International and sits on the National Council for Welcome.US to assist with Afghan refugee resettlement.
