Timothy Hughes graduated with a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. The LA Times deemed him a "breakout star" for his work in the Broadway Musical Hadestown by Anais Mitchell, which won the 2019 Tony for Best Musical! The cast recording of the show also won the Grammy Award for best musical theatre album in 2020. Prior to Hadestown, Hughes originated the role of Pabbie in Disney's Broadway musical Frozen at the St. James Theatre. Hughes made his B’way debut in Chaplin: The Musical, toured with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and has performed at regional theatres across the country including Goodspeed Opera, The MUNY, Music Theatre Wichita, Music Theatre West, St. Louis Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Geva Theatre, and Los Angeles Opera. On screen, Timothy Hughes is best known for his work as the Strongman in the hit movie musical The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. He is also a teacher of the arts! He’s taught with Open Jar Institute, Actor Therapy, Broadway Booker, Broadway Artists Alliance, Boom and created and developed his subscription career training program “Performer's Puzzle”.
