Katie Sweeney is a musical theatre super fan, autism mom, small business owner, and accessibility advocate. Katie has seen over 150 Broadway musicals (Shenandoah, 1976, was her first) and now shares that love of Broadway with her 20-year old severely autistic son, Dustin. Katie is on the Board of Directors of CO/LAB Theater Group, which provides individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater arts. She is a tireless and passionate advocate for accessibility on both sides of the proscenium, which was the subject of her 2016 TEDxBroadway talk, Theater for All. Katie is Chief Strategist at OutsideIn Strategies, Inc., specializing in qualitative research and marketing strategy. And when she is isn’t working, advocating, watching a show, or being a mom, she’s training for her next half or full marathon.
