Allison Leyton-Brown
Allison Leyton-Brown is an award-winning composer, pianist, and Musical
Director, specializing in collaborative multi-media works. Allison has
written countless original scores for TV, theater, dance, opera and film
productions
across the U.S. and Canada. Recent scores include This American Life, and
international children’s touring production Elmer: the Patchwork Elephant Show.
Other musical theater works include Pete the Cat: The Musical, Mouth Pieces,
and BOB: A Life in Five Acts. Recent podcast scores include Stranglers, The
Longest Shortest Time, and Outside the Box. Television scores include Emmy-
winning series “Peg+Cat”, “20/20,” “The Good Wife,” “Primetime,” and ABC’s
“What Would You Do?”. She is composer-in- residence for national avant-garde
company Archipelago Theatre, for whom she has composed five award-winning
shows. Leyton-Brown teaches singers and pianists in her private studio, and
works
regularly as a Musical Director, band-leader and recording pianist. Allison is on
the steering committee of the SCL in NY (Society of Composers and Lyricists)
and can be seen performing around NYC with multiple groups including New
Orleans jazzers Smith & 9th Ward.
