Mendell serves on the state board of the Ohio Community Theatre Association. An instrumentalist by trade he has been a music director, pit conductor and pit player for over 60 local high school and community productions. After completing a 34 year career in public education Mendell is now the director of bands at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus.
