Julie Saltman (aka Salty) is a Broadway Producer and Costume Designer. She is originally from Boston but identifies as a die-hard New Yorker now (and has the shoes to prove it)! Julie graduated from Carnegie Mellon and has an MFA in costume design from Brandeis University. She has worked on several Broadway shows in multiple capacities. Her Broadway credits include Lestat, High Fidelity, Spring Awakening, and more. She also worked on the iconic/epic Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark where she was the assistant to the producer. This experience led to creating and developing Taking Wing: Legends of Emimencia, which will become Broadway’s immersive techno-enhanced high-fantasy production using a variety of technologies. Its debut workshop was at The Duke Theatre (featuring fiber-optic wings). Julie led a panel discussion at BroadwayCon, in 2020 entitled What Will It Take to Bring Special Effects and Immersive Reality to Broadway.
