Michael Paul Smith is an actor, writer, director, producer who sometimes teaches improv. He can be heard opposite his wife Gillian Pensavalle on her podcast "The Hamilcast" and opposite his writing partner Ted O'Gorman in the comedy podcast "Ted and Michael Read Sketches Into Microphones." He is beyond thrilled to be graduating from eager BroadwayCon guest to eager BroadwayCon Teaching Artist!
Theatre cred: Michael graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BFA in Acting, and has performed with MCC Theatre, Irish Repertory Theatre, among others.
Showrunner cred: Michael wrote, directed, and co-starred in his and Gillian's popular webseries "The Residuals." His Christmas play 'Twas the Night was first produced by Long Island Theatre Collective, and will debut as an audio drama in 2020.
Comedy cred: Michael, Ted, and their improv/sketch group Basement View Improv, have performed all over the northeast, including Caroline's on Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club. They teach and perform regularly, including at the New York State Theatre Education Association Student Conference.
