It's time to discuss one of the most fascinating and subversive aspects of popular culture: the horror film. Many horror movies follow a predictable pattern with predictable casts, and this is boring and disappointing, let alone genuinely horrifying. However, the genre has the potential to be boundary-breaking and introspective. How many films have lived up to their potential? What elements of the LGBTQ community are present? How are racial dynamics represented? Let’s do the time warp and discuss everything from Norman Bates to the Candyman.
