In 56 feature films, Walt Disney Animation Studios has produced a number of iconic female characters, from princesses like Cinderella and Belle to children like Alice and Lilo, to animals like Perdita and Judy Hopps. Let's take a look at what's changed and what hasn't for these women and girls over eighty years of storytelling, and ask ourselves what we want to see in the Disney heroines of tomorrow.
