This presentation will investigate why queer Harry Potter fan fiction matters for queer fans, and why representation is important for fan culture at large. Through data collected for her senior thesis, as well as fan art and excerpts from fan fiction, Tianna Mignogna will support the thesis that queer Harry Potter fan fiction validates fans and drives home the message of "you are not alone.”
