The legacy of ancient Rome is all around you. It’s in your language, the buildings you see and the food you eat—almost 2,000 years after it fell. In this panel, we’ll explore the lasting legacy of Rome, and how they’ve influenced modern-day technology, society, laws, architecture and art.

Archaeologist Darius Arya, director of the American Institute of Roman Culture, will host a wide-ranging conversation with author, historian and tv presenter Bettany Hughes, who’s dedicated the last 25 years to bring the ancient and medieval world to life
