Gisette Gomez ("GG") is an award-winning tattoo artist and two-time Emmy Award-winning motion designer based in the Tampa Bay area. She was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1987 and her passion for fine art started at the age of 10 years old, being influenced by the creativity of her mother and the city she was growing up in. She is well versed in many media such as, oil, acyclic, watercolor, charcoal, printmaking, sculpture, film, 2D/3D animation and design. Her tattoo journey was kickstarted by a curiosity for learning a new medium on skin, which led to a summer apprenticeship in ’05 at a local tattoo shop in her hometown before heading to college. She attended MICA (‘05-’08), majoring in experimental animation and minoring in film/video. After graduation her career path led to the broadcast entertainment industry, working as a Motion Designer with NBC Universal, HBO, Spectrum Networks to name a few. While excelling as a Motion Designer and focusing on that career path, she still had a desire for an additional creative outlet: her passion for fine art and tattooing was unfulfilled. In 2020, she stepped back into the tattoo industry in Saint Petersburg, FL with a local shop, and within a year won 1st place for Micro Tattoo at a convention in Tampa, FL. While open to other tattoo styles, her specialty is fine line, black and grey, dot work, and micro. Building on this success she has now stepped into the business aspect of tattooing by opening her own studio, Dark Mark Ink, in Clearwater, FL. The studio is inspired by her love of all things in the wizarding world, welcoming all nerds alike in an inviting space. Unlike feeling enclosed or stared upon at other tattoo shops, GG has created an environment where all clients can feel safe, while having a tailored and magical experience.
