Allen joins Head Coach Nathan Davis’ coaching staff for the 2023-24 season after spending seven seasons as the head coach of Army West Point. The West Point, N.Y. native will serve as Associate Head Coach for the Wildcats.

In his time at Army, Allen coached the team to 98 wins and in the last four seasons, Army finished 36-32 in Patriot League play, the best mark in program history since the Black Knights joined the conference. His 98 wins at Army are the fourth-most all-time by a head coach in the program's history. Army won 17 games in the 2022-23 season, the second-most wins in a single-season since 1978.

Prior to arriving at Army, Allen was the head coach of Division III Averett University in Danville, Va. where he led the program to three NCAA tournament appearances and was named the USA South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year three times.

Allen's other coaching experience include stints at Wofford College, Navy, and his alma mater, Emory & Henry College.

A 1993 graduate of Emory & Henry with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Allen played in four consecutive NCAA Tournaments during his undergraduate career. The Wasps won 20 games each of his four seasons and advanced the "Sweet Sixteen" of the NCAA postseason on two occasions.

A four-year starter at point guard, Allen holds the program's record with 117 consecutive games played and ranks second on the school's all-time assist leaderboard. He was inducted into the Emory & Henry Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
