
Lennie Acuff just completed his 5th season at Lipscomb University and his 34th year as a head coach at the collegiate level. Acuff has established himself as a proven winner in amassing a career record of 640-396. In his five years at Lipscomb, he had led the Bisons to a 85-72 record that includes back to back 20 win seasons over the past two years. His teams have also defeated Power 5 opponents in back to back years.
Acuff is a finalist for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year that will be awarded at this year’s Final Four. He is currently the President of the NABC after serving for 15 years on the NABC Board of Directors.
Prior to arriving in Nashville, Acuff spent 22 years as the head coach at The University of Alabama in Huntsville where he built the Chargers into a national power with a 437-214 overall record. Acuff is the all time winningest coach in Gulf South Conference history as well as being at the top of the UAH career wins list. Acuff was recently inducted into the Gulf South Conference and Alabama-Huntsville Hall of Fames. Under Acuff, UAH won 8 regular season championships, three tournament titles and made 11 trips to the NCAA Division II tournament.
Two of the NCAA births resulted in Elite 8 appearances as well as reaching the Sweet 16 on five separate occasions.
Acuff also served four years as the head coach at Berry College (GA.) and three campaigns at Belhaven College (MS.) where he was the youngest head coach in the country.
Acuff played at Shorter University where he enjoyed an outstanding playing career that led to his induction into the Shorter Hall of Fame. He still holds the school record for career and single game assists.
