Charnele Kemper joined the NCAA staff in December 2005 and serves as director of academic and membership affairs. Charnele's current responsibilities include oversight of Division I interpretations and waivers. She also serves as a primary staff liaison to the Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee and provided support to the Commission on College Basketball. Prior to joining the NCAA staff, Charnele worked at Indiana University, Bloomington for six years in rules compliance. She earned a baccalaureate degree in psychology and sociology and a master's degree in higher education administration/student affairs from Indiana University, Bloomington. While at IU, Charnele was a member of the women's swimming and diving team.
