Dan Peterson

Dan began his career as an Assistant at McKendree College (IL), served as Freshman Coach at Michigan State, and Plebe Coach at U.S. Naval Academy before becoming the Head Coach at the University of Delaware. The Peace Corp took Coach Peterson to his first international job as Head Coach of the Chilean National Team. He moved on to Italy where he began his illustrious European career coaching Virtus Bologna where he won the Italian Pro League and Cup titles. The greater part of his career was spent leading Olympia Milano to four Italian League Championships, one Korac Cup Title (European’s Cup) and Champions of the Europeans Champions League where together with his point guard Mike D’Antoni changed how the 3-Point shot was utilized eventually impacting the NBA Game. He was elected to the European Basketball Hall of Fame and chosen by FIBA Europe as one of the top 10 coaches of the last 50 years. The latter part of his career has been as the “voice” of basketball in Europe broadcasting NBA and International Games.
