Gared's founder Alvie Sandeberg, a St. Louis native, changed the standard for how basketball was played in 1936 with the development of the no-tie net attachment, which is still the standard net attachment method in the game today. Throughout our 100-year history, our innovative approach to sports manufacturing has helped modernize the athletic experience. Whether it was the introduction of the 42” glass backboard for collegiate and professional play, or the development of the first non-obstructive portable backstop to create the optimal fan experience, the Gared brand has been embodied in its slogan: “Your Game, Our Business”. Over the past twenty years, we have applied our manufacturing and engineering expertise into expanded sporting categories including soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, pickleball, and seating, but our true love has always been the sport of basketball!

Today, we have the ability to ACTIVATE play in fieldhouses and green spaces with our diversified line of sports equipment. We use our legacy knowledge to ELEVATE sporting experiences by providing customized solutions to match play level with athletic skills. We CELEBRATE the impact of sports on communities and advocate for continued funding of physical education and passing of the PHIT Act to make sports activities more affordable for families.

Our basketball product line includes backboards, goals/rims, nets, padding, portable backstops, wall-mounted and ceiling-hung backstops, training & scoring aids, and storage equipment.
