Charlton "C.Y." Young was announced as the Mizzou men's basketball associate head coach in April 2022. He comes to Mizzou as the first official member of Coach Dennis Gates' staff in Columbia. Young comes to Columbia with almost 30 years of coaching experience, including a previous stint as a head coach. Most recently, Young served as a member of Leonard Hamilton’s Florida State staff for nine seasons. Throughout his accomplished career, Young has been a part of eight NCAA Tournaments, two regular-season conference titles and 13 NBA Draft picks. His work at Florida State directly played a part in three Sweet Sixteen appearances and the programs’ first Elite Eight in 25 years.
