Elizabeth Jensen is the regional director of the Northeast Region. In this capacity, Elizabeth heads up all aspects of the New York region’s local program work, including Best Friends’ East Coast super adoption events and the New York Strut Your Mutt event.

Elizabeth also oversees operations at Best Friends’ new pet adoption center located in the heart of SoHo. The center is designed to be a national lifesaving concept space that showcases adoptable dogs and cats from multiple regional animal rescue organizations and the New York city sheltering system. Elizabeth works closely with the No More Homeless Pets Network specialist in the Northeast region to drive lifesaving and spur collaboration.

Before coming on board with Best Friends, Elizabeth worked for 17 years in a leadership capacity at Bergdorf Goodman, an iconic New York City luxury retailer. She graduated from Rutgers University with majors in political science and medieval studies. A supporter of and volunteer for Best Friends for more than 15 years, Elizabeth currently lives in Connecticut with her rescued dog Flora and her rescued standardbred racehorse Music.
